In the felowship's previous journey, Samwise Gamji, Frodo Baggins, Pipin Took, Merry Brandybuck, Legolas, Boromir, Aragorn, Gandalf, and Gimli set off on a quest to destroy the one ring. Although Frodo and Sam were successful in ridding themselves and all of Middle Earth from it's power and destruction, not all returned home. Boromir was lost in a battle against the Orcs and the Urukhai.
They thought it was all over, but Gandalf came with news to the fellowship that somehow, without warning, Sauran had once again prevailed. No one knows why or how. They thought it impossible once the ring was destroyed. But Sauran has got the ring back and is once again out to destroy Middle Earth and all of it's peaceful inhabitants.
Frodo and the Fellowship must once again set out to destroy the ring- but this time it won't be so easy. Sauran himself now has posession of the ring, and he's indestructable.
